Lexi works at an interior design company. One day, Chris, who she has been crushing on for a long time, invites her on a date. However, she slips and ruins her clothes. Panicking, Lexi calls Emily, her best friend who has a knack for styling outfits. Emily helps Lexi into a new outfit and she makes it in time for her date.

After a candlelight dinner, Chris spends the night at Lexis. But the next day, Lexi discovers that Chris has stolen her design proposal and her most important client. This is a great loss to the company so Lexi is fired and her mistake is exposed to the entire industry, making her nigh unhireable. Helpless, Lexi returns home and finds Chris having an affair with her landlady! Lexi is evicted and left with nowhere to go, so she asks Emily for help.

Emilys family was rich, but recently declared bankruptcy. She rents an old apartment in Brooklyn, but took Lexi in anyway. Lexi realizes Emily livestreams, but her home is a mess. She uses her skills to give Emilys home a much-needed makeover.
